Matthew 18

For each passage we'll note who Jesus encountered, whether he initiated the contact, what type of interaction he had with them, whether He took direct action to meet human needs (see Matthew 25:35-36 for examples), whether His "do-ing" was miraculous, and any commands He gave.

Relationships among citizens of the Kingdom: Status of children (humility): 2-14; Justice 15-20; Forgiveness: 21-35.

What role did the child fill during this event? Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven [4]? What status do children have in the Kingdom of Heaven? What does Jesus' discussion of self-mutilation have to with children, or with who is great in the Kingdom?

Jesus poses a hypothetical situation in which the guilt of the offender is assumed (there is not any doubt that he committed the offense) -- what is He counseling the victim to do? What is His primary concern in giving this instruction? [15-20]

Is Peter starting to catch on to what Jesus is trying to teach them, or is he looking for a way out? [21] Is Jesus threatening that our loving heavenly Father will torture us if we fail to meet His demands? [34-35]
