We may be seeking a new place of Christian fellowship and service in the next few months, so I assembled this list to help evaluate our choices. Factors that are important to me include: proximity to our home (so that it is practical to walk to and from meetings); an active, personally involved congregation that does the gospel rather than just preaches it (orthopraxy is equally as important as orthodoxy); compatibility with our doctrinal understandings; and competent, well-trained, and effective leadership (both clerical and lay). Other factors that have a lesser influence for me include: a traditional style of worship including sturdy, substantial hymns that have more substance to them than the 7/11 music featured in more contemporary worship settings; and an informal atmosphere is more comfortable to me than a strict, starchy, formal, highly liturgical worship experience.
Others of us may care more about creature comforts (comfortable seating, good ventilation, handicapped accessibility, assistive devices for the hearing impaired, a sound system that's loud enough without being overpowering, convenient parking, etc.), child care and nursery services during adult meetings, quality Christian programming for their children, what colors the carpet and upholstery are, how good is the food at the potluck dinners, or whether the Bible study time conflicts with their favorite TV show.
This list of churches was derived from the listing in the March 9, 2019 edition of The Daily World, followed by a series of web searches to add and verify details. I know that the list is incomplete, and that some of the records included are likely inaccurate or outdated. Some churches were deliberately excluded because of doctrinal differences (LDS, Christian Science, and others). The list is ordered alphabetically by community, except a few items at the bottom for which the quality of the data is less certain.
The categories of "Contemporary" and "Traditional" worship styles are quite arbitrary and were assigned based on little more than the descriptions of their music styles on their website, or if there are two Sunday morning worship sessions the earlier was assigned Contemporary and the later one as Traditional. You should certainly not rely on these guesses as anything more than I've just described.

Records with a yellow background indicate those churches whose doctrinal positions are most similar to those of The Salvation Army.
